About Camp Braveheart:
Healing Hearts

Specially designed to meet the unique needs of grieving children (ages 5-17) and their families, this one-of-a-kind camp allows participants to explore feelings and find inner strength.

“I was very impressed with the knowledge and compassion demonstrated by the staff. They really helped me process my own grief and understand both the short term and long term effects of our loss on my daughter and me.”

    Strengthening Memories
Our trained staff of counselors, therapists, and volunteers help children connect with others their own age who know what it is like to lose a loved one. By honoring memories and investing in new experiences, children and adults gain coping tools for the future.

“I will always remember decorating the votive candles and launching them into the lake during the candlelight ceremony. It really drew our family together, unlike anything else I’ve experienced.”

    Finding Laughter
Children’s groups involve the use of creative arts – music, art therapy, creative writing and drama – as a natural outlet of expression and understanding of feelings. Camp BraveHeart© also offers adults/caregivers an opportunity to address their own grief issues, reinforce coping skills, and receive education on their own grief process as well as how children grieve.

“Camp Braveheart© allowed my son his first opportunity to spend time with other boys who have also lost someone close to them. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the camp and activities were – my son still talks abut last year’s camp.”

    The Place We'll go
Since 1915, Camp Copneconic has provided quality summer camping experiences for children and families. Located on beautiful Lake Copneconic, the camp is just twelve miles south of Flint, minutes from US-23 and 1-75.
